Using Feminine Colors
I made this piece the same day that I made “Fun Times Ahead.” This piece (and that one) were actually never intended to be sold, they were meant for my second oldest daughter.
While the use of white, gold and pink were a bit out of my element, what kind of dad would I be to say no?
It started with a pink skim coat background, then I mixed the white and gold together in a pour that went from one end to the other. In the process, the feather just sort of appeared.
The Name Gives it Away
With many abstract pieces, it’s hard to see an image at all. Although the artist may name the piece a certain thing, or the art elite may make obscure observations, the truth is, not everyone will see the same thing in the same image. Heck, truth be told, many times I don’t even see an image in what I make, but others do.
This is piece is not one of these times.
It’s Easy to See…
The feather shape. The rounded arch of the wing, the plume of the feathers, the billowing and narrowing of the shape. I mean, this is one of the few times I saw something in the piece right away…
… But that doesn’t make me right. I could be wrong. It could be something else entirely. What do you see in it?
